Distant Sky

Overall Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Gangnam in complete darkness…

"Am I the only one alive? What’s going on?"

A boy wakes up to find himself in a building full of dead people. No cars, no electricity and no stars in the sky… Not only Gangnam, but the entire city seems deserted."

Distant Sky is a horror webtoon by Inwan Youn and Sunhee Kim.

While my enjoyment of this webtoon was all over the place, especially as we got closer to the end, this started with a bang and I ultimately give this a 4 star rating.

You start the webtoon with the main character waking up to a dark world not knowing what happened, and you are thrown into the story blind alongside him.

I don't get scared when reading books, but one particular scene in this terrified me. That could have been partly because this is a webtoon so you see what happens in addition to reading, and partly because I was reading this at 1 in the morning, but it gave me chills.

I wish that feeling stayed with me however because the further you go on the more ridiculous it seemed to get and the more confused I got. The horror elements turned more dramatic and there was a plot twist bleach style that I didn't like. If you know then you know.

One of my favourite things about this was Terror Man. He showed up and I was here for him. He also has his own manhwa so maybe I will eventually pick that up.

If you like a horror that is no afraid to really stretch it's limits, try this out. You can read this on Webtoon where it is currently updating it's episodes for free viewing.
