Fairy Tale | Book Tag

As someone who took an English course on fairy tales at University, so I am always down for a good one (as long as it is not a retelling). Though this tag does seem more like a Disney movie tag than a fairy tale tag, we do have a round of good questions coming up.

I found this on Zezee with Books, but it was created by My Life with Books, so credit goes to them.

Here we go!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: PICK A BOOK WHERE LOVE TRIUMPHS EVERYTHING

More often than not, the books I read end up having a romance in them. I am going to go with something that I have gushed about several times before...and can't keep myself from gushing about it more. It is one of those stories where everyone ends up with somebody, which usually might bother me, but I loved all the love in this.

CINDERELLA: PICK A BOOK WITH A BEAUTIFUL COVER CHANGE

When a book has a cover change it is usually not for the better unless is it an exclusive limited edition one, or if they are a really old book. There is one cover that comes immediately to mind though that while I liked the original, I loved the alternate version even more. The orange and red theme with the dragon and clouds is just stunning, and I would love to have it on my shelf.

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARVES: PICK A BOOK WITH A LARGE CAST OF CHARACTERS

I am a big fantasy reader, so the vast majority of the books I read have a large cast of characters. I am currently finishing the main trilogy of The First Law series. While the characters you follow are the same throughout the series, they are a pretty good cast (especially Glokta).

SLEEPING BEAUTY: PICK A BOOK THAT PUT YOU TO SLEEP

If you check my Goodreads and look at my average rating, you will see that there is an overwhelming majority of 'meh' books. It is just the nature of reading books, as a lot of them are going to be forgettable. That being said, it is rather hard to pick one book in a sea of them. To make things easy for myself, I am going to go with a book I read recently - In the Vanishers' Palace.

If a book is done well, it doesn't matter how long it is as long as it makes an impact. However, I do find that novellas often end up being unmemorable, even while reading them. That is what happened with this book as the story just wasn't attention-grabbing.

RED RIDING HOOD: PICK A BOOK WITH A "BIG BAD WOLF" IN IT

When it comes to fantasy books, I am always here for a classic vampire or werewolf story. I am going to cheat a bit though and go with something that doesn't technically involve an actual wolf, but a character who is known as 'the wolf'. I also simply want to this opportunity to gush about a webcomic I love - The Boy & The Wolf.

Tera is a member of the Black Death Brotherhood, and he is two times bigger than the boy and definitely fits the role of a wolf.

ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND: PICK A BOOK WITH A WORLD THAT SUCKED YOU IN

Admittedly, I did talk about this series in the last tag but...I am still hyped about this so I am going to talk about it again. Also, this question was probably asking for a fantasy book, but I consider the world of volleyball to still be a world. I knew going into this that I was going to like it because I like volleyball, but boy was I ever invested in it.
