I would say that I am a part of many, many fandoms. While I may not be an active participant, I do watch a lot of shows. Although, I will say that my viewership of English-speaking shows is not what it used to be, as I like to stick to anime and the occasional Korean drama and variety show when I am in the mood.
So, for this week's 'Tag Time', as you can see by the title, I am doing the 'fandom book tag'. I found this on Zezee with Books, but the tag was originally created by Fangirl Fashionista. Like Zezee, since the original tag consisted of a lot of fandoms, I am going to change it up a bit. Instead of dividing it in two though, I am just going to include fandoms that I was/am a part of.
Here we go!
DOCTOR WHO: A BOOK WITH A BLUE COVER
Ah, Doctor Who. I will admit, I haven't watched this for a while as I stopped halfway through the 12th doctor and just never picked it up again. Anyway, for a series with a blue time machine, we have a book with a blue cover.
Now, I may not have enjoyed this book as much as I wanted to or thought I did, but it does have one of the prettiest covers. Just look at it, all blue and beautiful, it's too bad that I didn't like what was on the inside as much as the outside.
MARVEL: A BOOK WITH A RED COVER
I have been pretty loyal to this fandom, at least with the cinematic universe, as I generally go and watch all of the movies in theatres. I think the only one I haven't seen yet, except for the new Doctor Strange, is the most recent Spider-Man movie. Nonetheless, I do enjoy a good Marvel movie or show, just as much as I enjoy staring at this book cover.
I browsed through the books I have read, and I haven't read many with a red cover. The first one I stumbled upon was The Alexandria Link. I am not far in this series but I should really pick it up sometime soon because, well, I just love history with some action.
SUPERNATURAL: A BOOK WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTER COMES BACK TO LIFE
Ah yes, supernatural and its tendency to constantly bring back dead characters over and over again. This is a bit of a tricky question because I can't think of any books where this happens, and I don't want to spoil anything either.
Honestly though, even though I haven't read any yet, any isekai manhwa would count because they all seem to start with someone dying and being reincarnated somewhere else. The first one that comes to mind is Who Made Me a Princess. This is extremely popular, and I do want to read it eventually as long as it (hopefully) finishes soon.
SHERLOCK: A BOOK FEATURING A PSYCHOPATH/SOCIOPATH
Horror and thriller books are a real hit or miss for me, but I have one that is right on theme. Dead on in fact, because this manga takes place in the Sherlock universe, but instead of following Sherlock, we are following Moriarty. I highly recommend the anime, (as I am waiting for more volumes of the manga to be released before continuing), because this is fantastic.
CHARMED: A BOOK ABOUT SISTERS
While I have no intentions of watching the reboot, I adored Charmed when I was younger, and it is just as good of a re-watch too. I am having a hard time though coming up with a book about sisters, or at least one I liked or where the sisters had a good relationship. The only one I could think of is Magic for Liars.
I didn't mind this book, even though my rating dropped after I let it sink in more, but it does feature sisters. I wasn't a huge fan of the sisters and their relationship, but this is all I've got...
STAR TREK: A BOOK FEATURING ALIENS OR TAKES PLACE IN SPACE
I do enjoy a good sci-fi book and have watched a ton of Star Trek in my time, I want to pick a book that I haven't mentioned much. While it might be easier to go with something like Skyward, because I loved that book, I am going to pick To Sleep in a Sea of Stars. This absolute beast of a book was a bit of a hit or miss for a lot of people, but I rather liked this. Even though it was almost 900 pages and was a bit repetitive, I wasn't bored at all.
