"An astonishing technique for recovering and cloning dinosaur DNA has been discovered. Now humankind’s most thrilling fantasies have come true. Creatures extinct for eons roam Jurassic Park with their awesome presence and profound mystery, and all the world can visit them—for a price.
Until something goes wrong."
Jurassic Park is the first installment in Michael Crichton's sci-fi series of the same name.
This is one of those cases were the movie is 100% better than its source material. My god was this bad.
For one, the movie definitely made the characters more likable. Ian is the only one I like because he's a skeptic straight away. Book Hammond is self-absorbed and throws tantrums, and Alan looks like he is two seconds from running experiments on the dinos himself. Lex is also the absolute worst in this because all she does is either complain or scream.
Another issue I had was the sudden shifts in perspective. There was no warning for the shift and one second the story was focusing on one character and then all of a sudden it would switch to another in the next sentence.
Overall, the book is a skip and the movie is a must.
