What a way better way to celebrate Christmas than to talk about my most disliked books of 2022? It is the end of the year, and it is time to reflect on everything I have read over the course of the year. I always like to start with the bad and make my way up to the best, so here I am.
This year was not without its many, many, failures, and there are several books I read that I wish I didn't. With so many possibilities, I thought I would have trouble narrowing it down but, to be honest, I think most of the books will end up on the most disappointing list rather than this one. I also managed to narrow down the list since there were some bad books I read because I simply don't remember much about them (which is probably a good thing).
Luckily for me as well, at the end of every month in review, I do list which book in that given month I liked the least, so this is more a less just a compilation of all those titles.
So, without further ado, here are my most disliked books of 2022!
I read Bunny not too long ago in September, and boy do I regret it. I knew going into it that I was either going to love or hate it and sadly it was the latter. Granted, I can see why people liked it, but for me this was just way too out there for me. By the time I got to the end I wanted to wash my brain because I couldn't believe what I just read. I will give it to the author that she sure wrote something unique, but uh, I just couldn't rate it highly only because it made me mildly uncomfortable.
Up next we have another book I would consider to be polarizing, that being We Need to Do Something. Like Bunny, this also made me incredibly uncomfortable and because of that, I couldn't give this any higher of a rating than a 1-star. For me, I don't consider a horror book good if it only makes me uncomfortable. I need more in a book than just sheer disgust value.
I needed to include at least one manga on this list, and i tell c is the one. I read this as part of a challenge I did where I read cancelled manga to see if they had potential or not, and this didn't to say the least. I honestly don't get why this has some pretty good ratings, because this wasn't good. The plot was bad, the characters were incredibly questionable, and the twists were laughable and cliche.
Another book I read for a reading challenge I did, this time where I reread The Twilight Saga, this is where it hit me that that was a bad idea. The entire series wasn't great, but this book was downright horrible. To be frank, more or less the entire book could have been cut out from the series because nothing of substance happens. This book was also over 600 pages and a complete waste of my time.
