November 2022 | In Review

November was supposed to be the month when I really had to crack down on the books I had left on my TBR for the year. Those books are the ones on my list of '22 books to read in 2022'. I had a good start at the beginning of the month since I got through a couple of them, but everything came to a halt about halfway through the month. That is because I started a new job and, well, I just don't have the time anymore to read as much as I usually do.

So, this was probably one of the worst reading months of the year, not in terms of quality but quantity. There is also one book I started reading but didn't end up finishing by the end of the month, which I usually try to but, again, didn't have the time to. I also read nothing of the graphic medium this month either which was unfortunate.

Onto the statistics!

I read 5 books and 1 audiobook for a grand total of 6 titles and 1,927 pages.

If you want to check out my reviews, click on the pink links! Reviews for titles not linked can be found on my Goodreads page. Now, here are all the titles I read this month:

  • S. by J.J. Abrams

  • Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) by Rachel Caine

  • Stardust by Neil Gaiman

  • The Last Wish (The Witcher #0.5) by Andrzej Sapkowski

  • An Atlas of Lost Kingdoms by Emily Hawkins

  • Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney

I did end up having 1 DNF this month, that being The Last to Vanish by Megan Miranda. I've tried a couple of her books in the hopes of liking her work, but I don't really. So, I wasn't going to waste any more time with her work.

Ratings

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

I guess one positive for having a slow month is that there only so much disappointment you can have. Luckily as well, I didn't read anything below a 3-star rating which is a huge bonus for me.

Genres

Fantasy - 3

Mystery Thriller - 1

Nonfiction - 1

Fiction/Mystery - 1

Again, with the lack of books I read this month, there isn't too much going on in terms of genres either.

Best of the Month - S.

Worst of the Month - The Last Wish

Most Surprising - Ink and Bone

Most Disappointing - Stardust

It was kind of hard placing the books into these categories because my rating were all pretty close together. The best of the month, at least, was an easier choice since I only had two 4-star books and one was nonfiction. S. was a pretty good read though so it deserves that spot.

In terms of the worst, and I use that a bit loosely, we have The Last Wish. Again I wouldn't say this was bad, but it wasn't a very good entry point into the series which impacted my reading experience negatively.

Most surprising would be Ink and Bone, and only because I ended up enjoying it more than I expected to considering I haven't been having any luck with YA novels recently.

Finally, for our disappointing book we have Stardust, which ended up not being able to live up to how much I adore the movie.
