"A family on the verge of self-destruction finds themselves isolated in their bathroom during a tornado warning."
We Need to Do Something is a standalone horror novella by Max Booth III.
My experience of this book can be summed up simply and to the point - no, just no. While this is a short book, being under 200 pages, I hated every single second of it. This book just made me uncomfortable, in the way that a lot of horror movies make people feel, but it was not in a good way, it was in a gross way.
I feel like this is a divisive book because the vast majority of the reviews on Goodreads are all positive, which good for you for enjoying it I guess? It was a messed up book, and if that is right up your alley then you are probably going to like it, but I just couldn't.
The plot is very simple, as you can tell by the single-sentence synopsis. A family of four ends up getting stuck in their bathroom after a passing tornado causes the door to be blocked. What ensues, as you may expect, is the family descended into madness and despair. I won't go into any more detail because this is a short book, but I will say to prepare yourself if you are easily disturbed, or triggered, because this was...something.
